In 1688, Joseph Haviland built a tidewater gristmill that provided the locally-grown grains to a nearby bakery that supplied farmers and tradesmen with bread. It was the first public oven in New York State. Haviland’s Old Grist Mill and the public bakery were community gathering places for two centuries. Inspired by Joseph Haviland’s noble efforts, the Haviland Kitchen & Bar has been established for our neighbors. My wife and I are regulars at Haviland's. The food and service is always consistent. The menu has something for everyone and the bolognese is off the charts good. The specials are inventive. The atmosphere is elegant and not pretentious. I think we're lucky to have this type of restaurant in our neighborhood.

Making a reservation is definitely the move here, it was so nice being able to walk in say my name and be immediately seated. The service was excellent and The food was incredible. Will definitely be returning

The fresh fried mozzarella was mouth watering. The best we've ever had anywhere. Portions are substantial, but delicious. Waiters are superb. Watching the over-sized desserts go by is very tempting and entertaining. A must stop every year when we are in town.

First time at Churchill's. The wait staff were good, the food was good and we were served in a timely manner. However, it was SO noisy, it was difficult for the 5 of us to chat.
