Growing up in Iran, where every single meal is a feast and our gatherings are based around vibrant and plentiful dishes. I fell in love with the art of Persian food which was nurtured, with age old recipe passed down through the generations. To this day I mostly make Persian food and my heart will always be there.After a 20 year career in teaching, it wasn’t easy to completely switch paths to give my passion a go, but after my first supper club in 2014, and a lot of encouragement from so many, I knew it was the right path. Since then I have enjoyed being a tv chef, working in Michelin star restaurants and writing for food cookbook. But my passion for health, the art of cooking, and creating community and a society which brings joy and change to peoples lives is still my main drive, and I feel that my supper clubs really nurture that desire and make me a very happy chef :)

Fergus Hendersons Konzept „von der Schnauze bis zum Schwanz“ wurde 1994 in einer ehemaligen Räucherkammer, gleich um die Ecke vom Smithfield Market, begründet. Das Restaurant St. John ist eine Hommage an hochwertige britische, saisonale Speisen, die mit einfachen, traditionellen Kochtechniken zubereitet werden. Es gilt als eines der 50 besten Restaurants der Welt und wurde im Jahr 2009 mit seinem ersten Michelin-Stern ausgezeichnet. „Von der Schnauze bis zum Schwanz“ bedeutet, dass alle Teile eines Tieres in der Küche verwertet werden. Neben Roastbeef und Rotzunge stehen daher auch Schweinemilz, Nierenspießchen, Rinderherzen, Leber und Kutteln auf der Speisekarte. Das gebratene Knochenmark mit Petersiliensalat ist ein Klassiker. Das Restaurant scheint auf den ersten Blick vielleicht nicht für Vegetarier geeignet, doch die fleischlosen Gerichte werden mit derselben Sorgfalt zubereitet wie das Fleisch, der Fisch, das Geflügel und die Desserts.

In February 2022, the renowned British-Nigerian artist Yinka Shonibare CBE RA, and project architect India Mahdavi transformed the Gallery with a new installation of artworks and interiors. Shonibare’s artist-conceived vision presented a new sunshine-yellow setting designed by Mahdavi, marking a new culture-defining chapter for sketch in its 20th year. Using applique and embroidery techniques on richly dyed fabrics, Shonibare illuminates the influence of African traditions on European conceptions of our modern-day world.

We dined here as a large party (12 people) and nothing was too much trouble, even though there were two more of us than booked they were fitted in quickly and easily and without fuss. As we were a large party the fellow supervising made some really good suggestion to keep things simple by providing a mixed selection of starters, rices and naans. Food was hot, tasty, and arrived quickly. The house red was delicious. The price was reasonable for the location but higher than the average as you would expect for an affluent area. It was a lot better than I was expecting - thank you! I would absolutely come back.

This is very much a fast food outlet and not a 'Greek experience'. That said, the staff on hand were pleasant and attentive and the food was fresh and tasty. Two of us ate as much as we could manage for less than £30 with beer.
