Situated on the corner of New Road, the Birdcage is opposite Brixham Theatre and sits right at the heart of the local community. Formerly known as the Bolton Hotel, the pub occupies a Grade II listed building and has been on the site since the 19th Century. We're proud to offer a menu packed with the most appetising dishes. Our Head Chef Sam has created a range of fantastic dishes from beachside staples to seafood specials. Join us daily from 9am to 4pm; with breakfast served until 11.00am and lunch available until close. Teas, coffees, drinks, cakes and pastries served all day. Delicious Sunday lunch through the Winter months. Please note that during the summer we do not take bookings and welcome walk ins only.

    Steak and ale pie not cooked on top peas were hard not enough mash. Service really good and very friendly

    Celebrated my wife’s birthday here! Overall ambiance was exellent. The food was amazing! The staff was wonderful! The f&b staff who attended to us was very professional and served us with a smile. The wild mushroom Tagliatelle was the best I’ve ever had. The Salmon was cooked to perfection too! The live band outside was a bonus. Such a lovely experience spending birthdays here. Did not disappoint at any thing we are satisfied just like last year but this year’s menu was far more better than the previous one. Portion was good. We found the mouth watering calamari in paignton that we had last year on the sister’s hotel next door so we are very happy.
