Das Essen war einfach super lecker ! Wir waren zur Happy Hour da und hatten mehrere Tappas bestellt. Das Essen hat nicht lange gedauert und war sehr lecker . Die Bedingungen waren alle super freundlich! Als es kalt wurde gab es decken und außerdem auch live Musik auf der Terrasse ! Auch der Nachtisch war großartig!

This is my second visit here. The food is good and the service is great. It is a bit expensive for what you get. This most recent time I ordered the mussels and clams and there were only 10 mussels/clams and 3 of the mussels were empty - no meat. And there wasn’t any loose meat in the dish. So for a pretty expensive dish, 1/3 of the mussels were empty shells. How can they send out so few shellfish without checking that there is meat in them? I will not be back.

We were seated on the patio which was lovely. Unfortunately we arrived at the same time as a large group and the kitchen got backed up. We waited almost an hour for appetizers, with no communication or explanation until it was too late. When we got our food, most of it was very good. The only exception was the calamari, which we’d pass on if we had to do it over. That being said, this isn’t a meal we’d choose to do over based on this experience.

The outdoor patio was the perfect setting for our large birthday celebration. The service , pitchers of drinks and tapas suited our party goers wonderfully.

Disappointed with quality of the food and service at this price point. Calamari was just ok. Seafood paella was very salty with very little seafood for the $59 price...not enough for 2 people to share. Pizza was actually better. Had to ask for serving spoons multiple times for the shared dishes. Had to ask for water refills multiple times. We had multiple appetizers at first and decided to order several entrees. Expected to receive fresh utensils, but instead the sever took the used ones off our used plates, and placed them directly on the table (no tablecloth) for reuse. We were rather put off by this. Will not be returning.

It was Valentine’s weekend. The restaurant seemed unprepared. We ordered from the menu rather than the Valentine’s Day special. Our server forgot to put our dinner entrees in and it took over 30 minutes between our appetizer and our dinner. Plus they only brought one entree and it was 10 minutes before the second appeared. From the looks of things we weren’t the only unhappy couple. Not planning on returning, there are plenty of other places to eat in Monterey.

The food and service were 100% perfect. My husband and I celebrated Valentine’s Day at Esteban, and we enjoyed it every bite. Servers were attentive, checking in frequently to make sure we were doing fine. We will return!
