Located on High Holborn, close to the British Museum, the restaurant is elegantly designed and filled with original Indian art and antique furniture including century old items made for Maharajas which take diners on a journey through Indian culture and history. The menu reflects regional accents with a contemporary viewpoint. It is food that observes the established traditions of Indian cooking but breaks the rules a little by Executive Chef Sohan Bhandari. Our menu goes beyond a 1970’s “Curry”, beyond street food and into a world of real Indian flavours. Turned up nearly two hours early, since we'd made far better time than we'd expected. Happy to accommodate us and rebook on the spot. Excellent service. Food incredible for vegan alternatives, especially the dessert. Suggestion - drinks that are single flavours, perhaps? I found one flavour in most of them that I'm not partial to.

The steward didn’t have much experience serving people. The sweet section of high tea had small shot glasses to be shared between 2 people. The menu said jalebi but the shot glass had a sprinkling of jalebi piece. I think this should be rethought as it’s physically impossible to share a shot glass worth of anything. Steward was very loud and started clearing tables when one of the party was still eating even though there were 10 other tables that were empty
