Casa Vega, in Sherman Oaks, opened its doors in 1956 and has been serving the people of Southern California ever since. Local residents, and even celebrities, have flocked to the family-run Mexican restaurant currently run by Christy Vega Fowler, daughter of original owner, Rafael Vega.     Great service! We got seated right away at a high top. We mostly came for happy hour and it did not disappoint. The wings are juicy and crispy, birria tacos are great too. We also loved the chips and bean dip, and guac. Drinks are nice and strong but still tasty. The Sonoran Sunset is great if you like rum. Our server was great and attentive. Will definitely be back!

    The food exceeded my expectations. Possibly the best queso I’ve ever had. My wife and kids loved their food too. The staff was courteous, and prompt. The decorations are tasteful and well done. Inside is almost entirely built around a large bar, so it’s a bit loud and with televisions, but this was fine for us. I’ll be back!

    We were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food we ordered. The tortilla soup was flavorful and just the right spice level. We split shrimp fajitas and the vegetables were perfectly cooked and maintained their color.
