Such a lovely evening at The Axe & Compasses. They’ve renovated it superbly & it has a great atmosphere, gorgeous furnishings, fab food & Staff. A wonderful birthday meal, thanks!

As usual the food, service & atmosphere was brilliant, as was our Christmas dinner (for 11 people). Really would recommend The Hole in the Wall. We’ve never been disappointed

A lovely Saturday lunch with my mum today - wonderful service from the moment we arrived. Our drinks order was taken promptly and served quickly - the most important part of service in my opinion as it sets the tone for the whole meal! Food was excellent (we had the burger and the salmon) - I couldn’t fault it. So much so that’s we’ve booked a big family meal there in a month’s time. Looking forward to coming back!

This pub is fast becoming a firm favourite - every time we go , they are so friendly and accommodating ! We have been this afternoon - Christmas Eve and just for drinks - and they were happy for us to do that, even though some pubs would insist on meals . The decoration is fabulous and we had a great time !
