At Babette, the husband and wife team of Joan Ellis and Patrick Hooker, are in the kitchen preparing each plate to ensure that their vision and taste profile are translated to each diner. Delarosa is an Italian-style restaurant in downtown San Francisco. It has a free and open design with large, communal tables for many different guests to share during a meal. Very friendly staff! Came before a Warriors game for a quick drink at the bar and then after the game for some pizza and Caeser salad. Both were very yummy. We chose to eat “outdoors” which was nice because of the views. They have a lot of heaters above which helps a lot. Place was lively and the view of the bay and arena was spectacular.

Food is inventive and delicious . It has a bistro vibe and is very cosy. Service was attentive but since the space is small it felt a bit rushed. The shared plates are generous. Don’t miss the oven fired bread with tapenade and the arancini.

I lived in Italy for a year and three.one four’s pizza is the best I’ve ever had. The salad was amazing as well. Full bar/craft cocktails, great wine selection, and an incredible dessert menu. We’re already looking forward to returning to try some of their pastas and salads. We forgot that we were there during happy hour and were surprised at how reasonable our check was for such a memorable dining experience.

We had a choice to sit outside or inside - I think either would have been lovely but we chose outside and sat around the fire table - between the fire table, heat lamp and cozy blankets, the temperature was perfect even on a somewhat chilly night and you could not beat the wonderful atmosphere. It was our first time here but will not be the last.
