Opening their first location in the spring of 1984, Helen Babalos & Thomas Makris brought us Anatoli Souvlaki. They had a dream of combining the food of Greece with great service to add some Mediterranean style to the North Vancouver restaurant selection. They opened in the sleepy neighbourhood of lower Lonsdale and lived above the restaurant to ensure the quality and service. They were able to create a North Vancouver staple, a successful thriving restaurant based on faithful patrons and a reputation that has been passed through generations.In 2011, the family-run restaurant was taken over by their sons Alexi and Iani. In 2015, the brothers, alongside their cousin Daniel Bergman, expanded on their parent’s dream by opening The Greek in Yaletown, with a focus on mezze-style dining. Now open in Gastown. The Greek is a reinterpretation of the North Shore's iconic Anatoli Souvlaki.

Sie eröffneten 1984 das Anatoli Souvlaki im Norden von Vancouver. Im Jahr 2011 übernahmen ihre Söhne Alexi und Iani das Restaurant. Diese verwirklichten Anfang 2015 den ursprünglichen Traum ihrer Eltern in einem neuen Projekt. Food was great restaurant seemed understaffed with some very large tables. Which probably made the kitchen slow. The calamari had a weird sauce with it which was a bit unexpected. Seemed like mayo with an addition of lemon. Maybe just stick to tsatziki. I would make that request next time Otherwise was all good and what’s to be expected of a higher end Greek restaurant

It was amazing! The food, price, and service were all perfect!!! Especially the lady who takes our orders was the best. I had a really nice time with my friends thanks to you guys. Definitely I recommend this restaurant!!

The waitress was impatient when we still need time to order. The manager was nice and helpful, giving us suggestions on the choices. The oyster was fine and fresh. The octopus was great! The salmon was very soft.
