Our first time at The Hawthorn. Was a lovely restaurant. Greeted by very helpful polite staff. Very accommodating. Nothing was too much trouble. Efficient and professional. Pleasant and polite. I had the flat iron Steak with peppercorn sauce and crispy skin on fries. Absolutely delicious. Couldn’t find fault. Service was very prompt. The fries were the best I’ve ever tasted. My husband had the Burger with fries and he really enjoyed it too. Plenty of choices from the wine and beverage section. Prosecco was very nice as was the Ilkley beer. We didn’t have room for desert. Again nice choices from a traditional menu. Very nice indeed and we will definitely be returning.

It was our first visit to the Durham Ox at Crayke and it didn't disappoint. From start to finish a most enjoyable experience so much so that I've booked a table for lunch in December. Polly Graham

Excellent food and a great wine list. We had a lovely lunch celebrating my Mum's birthday, she even got some special Happy Birthday truffles, compliments of the staff at the Inn, a lovely touch!

Lovely country Inn. Tables well set out and not too close together. Great value food that was well presented with generous portions. Staff were all extremely pleasant and attentive. Would recommend.

Slow to take order. Not enough staff. But very friendly.
