Between the central locale afforded by its gracious home in the landmark Lord Elgin Hotel, a warm and yet contemporary ambience, a locally sourced menu and a casual-to-sophisticated stocked cellar, Forty-One has become one of Ottawa’s top new restaurants.Named Forty-One in recognition of the year, 1941, that the Lord Elgin was built, the restaurant features a modern environment and classic menu that is a perfect match for connecting with new and familiar faces. We were very happy we came here! We don't normally bring our 10yo daughter to nicer places but the experience was fantastic. Sam is such a kind person and we are always taken care of with them. We were in a time crunch to go see a performance close by and the team made us ready to go right on time. Food is always spectacular, atmosphere is lovely.

First time there but won't be my last! Beautiful spot, so nicely decorated, service was impeccable, staff friendly and food prompt and delicious. Impressive menu. Would also like to commend the hostess for phoning me when we were late for our reservation because we were lost, she gave directions that helped get us there in a hurry. And they held our reservation despite being totally full with no other tables available. Would highly recommend.
