Our “finest hour” was most definitely during the Battle of Britain in World War II, when we were commandeered by the RAF to serve as an auxiliary mess for Fighter Command at RAF Kenley. Great Sunday roast with freshly prepared food. New owners are making this pub into a new favourite for us. There was also a really good live singer at just the right volume as background music and gave the place a lovely atmosphere. Good to see The Wattenden thriving and busy.

The restaurant now has a lovely cosy feel. Great food and service, big portions so good value, last time I had the pork belly bites for starter and they were delicious, my partner said he could just eat a whole bowl of them. This time I had the fish and chips and enjoyed it. Service all round was excellent, friendly and helpful, need to try the sunday roast next. Will definitely return and would absolutely recommend
