The Friary is situated just on the edge of Derby's lively city center. This bright, vibrant and fast paced venue is the place to be for students and revellers alike. The structure is traditional but the Decor is very, very modern. Purple walls with orange borders and the Submarine grey fire place in the games room with astro-turf may give you a heavy indication that at this venues core, it's a Sports Bar but you'd be wrong.     Exqusite rib-eye. The host was not very welcoming in seating us but then he got much better as he served us. We left very happy. We very definitely will return!

    Fantastic food - 3 course dinner menu plus canapés and a muse bouche, brilliant service from Abi and Owen and a beautiful riverside setting. No wonder you have to boom months in ad ance!! Highly recommended.

    Breakfast menu small but I would say something for everyone. My friend and I went for a maple pancake stack that came with pork belly, scrambled eggs and a full breakfast. The only downside for me is the eggs were very salty and more omelette than scrambled. The rest of the breakfast was delicious. The waitress was very friendly and attentive. The decor inside is nice and of course the view of the marina also. Will definitely go back.

    Had an incredible night celebrating our anniversary. Tasting experience was incredibly interesting and unique. The staff went above and beyond to accommodate my partner's gluten intolerance, and every team member we spoke to were amiable, polite and great conversationalists.
