Die besten Bistros in Montrose

There was no sax player at dinner which was the ultimate reason I chose a Saturday. Drinks and soup were nice. The seafood linguine was okay not fantastic. My friend got the fish with edamame risotto and it wasn’t that great. Everything else was good. I shall return for a brunch before I confirm if I’d return and for what time of day.

We had not been to Cafe Rabelais for years and it was lovely to see it looked almost exactly the same: walls of wine, chalk board menu, wooden tables packed closely together. It was a cold day and the draft from the front door kept us cooler than we would have preferred. The menu has changed a lot. No more croque monsieur, the trout did not have the rice and simple green beans. The bread was no longer a boule but a very tasty baguette, warm, fresh and crusty. The boeuf bourginon was excellent! Perfectly cooked, hot, with a wonderful wine infused sauce. Though they were out of the wine we wanted, the glasses we ordered were generous pours. We had a lovely time.

We had a great time at Barbacana with their tasting menu. Food and wine pairings were excellent, service was friendly and sitting at the tasting counter watching them cook and plate was super cool! Favorites were definitely the crab and buttered onion and TX Waygu dishes. We’ll be back, for sure!

Absolutely wonderful!!! The waitstaff especially Benny are great. The food was amazing. We even got to watch the sunset. Highly recommend going there!!!
