Lovely place to visit, relaxing atmosphere,attentive staff, fantastic food

For a convivial, conversational evening with colleagues or friends, the Old Parsonage is simply the best venue in Oxford - elegant, cozy surroundings, blissfully music-free and typically a quiet and civilized clientele. They will make every effort to accommodate diner's requirements for seating and other needs. On this occasion, my guest was delayed well past our booking time; despite the restaurant being fully booked, the OP graciously accommodated us.

What a super little restaurant. From arrival the greeting was warm, friendly, but professional. The atmosphere was charming and it was lovely and cozy, especially as it was so miserable outside due to the rain. The dishes we sampled were exemplary. That was the best chicken Caesar salad I have ever had (and I've had lots!) and my friend said her beetroot salad was the best she'd tasted too. All 3 of us have experience from Michelin starred restaurants and this was truly excellent. It was small, but it was charming. The ingredients used are clearly top quality. The wine delicious and small things such as the toilets and the shine on the drinking glasses are something I always look at, both were pristine. Thank you. We will definitely be back and we love the sound of the evening service you provide. We only come to Cheltenham for a meet up 4 times a year, but I will definitely be recommending the establishment to friends in the Cheltenham area and we will be back, for sure. Thank you. You have a lovely little restaurant. I took the gratitude for booking it (we all worked in the Law Department of Kraft Foods who formerly had the building), but the praise should go to you, not me! Our anniversary experience was quite good although we were situated in a remote part of the restaurant when more appealing window views were available elsewhere. Food was well presented and generally ideal but the lamb took quite a bit of chewing. The hake was delicious! We had a main course and dessert only. No wine. £100 was quite pricey. Thanks for the complimentary Prosecco!

The chicken sandwich is very sad so don’t bother. The appetizers are good. Service is good.
