The Castlefield Rooms offer a boutique, out of the ordinary, venue in central Manchester, in a stunning position within a conservation area on the banks of the Bridgewater Canal. With a superb location in Manchester City Centre, near all major transport links, complimentary on site parking and the highest levels of service and cuisine, the Castlefield Rooms are the perfect venue to hold your wedding, corporate event or party. We offer a choice of three contrasting spaces for anything from 25 to 250 guests together with a range of competitively priced event packages. The versatility of the spaces is also reflected in the variety of menus available from the acclaimed kitchens of Albert’s Shed Restaurant and Dukes 92 which are located on the same site as The Castlefield Rooms. Whichever space you decide on you will have our dedicated Events Team on hand to ensure the smooth and efficient running of your event.

I organised the booking of this venue on behalf on a group of 10 friends. 7 of the group arrived early. We were taken to our seats, waiting for the remainder of the party. Two members of the party wanted to hang up their coats, but there did not seem to be anywhere to do this. They went for front of house, but again there was no member of the team around, causing a bit of confusion. Nobody came to the table after seating to ask if we needed drinks, or even water. After the remainder of the ground arrived on schedule, again nobody came to take a drinks order. I personally tried to catch the eye of both the (overworked) waitress, and also the lady I assumed was the manager. I would suggest it was at least 20 mins before one of the group had to attract the manager (by almost shouting) to take the order. From then on, things went fine, as I noted more staff appeared, but it did leave me rather worried for the remainder of the meal as to if food/drinks would arrive, however overall everything was fine., although it was noted that at least one table who came in after our full table had arrived, who had their order taken - and food arrived - before our group. I did observe the waitress was working alone for quite some time, which I am sure is why she, and the manager, did not even look over to our table. I am Sorry to say this is bad planning on behalf of the restaurant. As mentioned above, once more staff appeared, all went fine, but I did feel disappointed, as I booked the venue in mid December, so it is not as though we were not expected. In summary, I am not given to leave bad review sites , but this was somewhat of a special occasion, and I did come away (sorry to say) feeling rather disappointed with the experience.

Me, my boyfriend and my best friend Paul and his boyfriend Kai had a meal here to say goodbye to Paul as he is moving to Gran Canaria with his boyfriend. What fabulous staff you have there, honestly, they are so lovely and down to earth, attentive but not overbearing, 100% deserve a bonus. The food was delicious, absolutely spot on, fabulous deal in for January, everything on the menu is outstanding. The cocktails are fabulous too. I only selected the noise as moderate because we were the 4 loud people in there!! Well done guys, keep up the good work, me and my boyfriend will be back soon!

Food was very average for the price paid, would expect better, ESPECIALLY the desert! It was so blatantly obvious it wasn’t fresh. I find it hard to see how you can think serving them brownies is acceptable when you’re charging £80 per person and you are meant to be a quality restaurant? You basically went and bought one the the £1 plastic tubs of 20 small brownies from Tesco! Overall food was poor, very small portion sizes which is fine when the food is quality - but this wasn’t the case. Atmosphere was good with the live singer and servers were helpful - just a shame about the food… which is the main part.

We went on New Years Eve and overall our experience was poor. I understand it was busy, but the service was extremely bad. We were waiting very long each drink and overall ruined the whole experience for us. Not usually somebody to leave a bad review but this was necessary.

Excellent quality food as always. Lovely ambience and Swift polite service. We brought American friends visiting Manchester for the first time and we wouldn’t have chosen anywhere else. They loved the food and the setting. Ten out of ten, thank you! We will be back💖

Overall really good experience,maybe slightly overpriced.venue is nice and staff are friendly ,would of given more for service if they hadn’t forgotten my wofes birthday

Food was delicious. Very impressed with all our selection of chosen dishes. Service could have been improved. Initially asked if we wanted water on the table and agreed, this never arrived. Has to ask again for more ordered drinks after a good 10/15 minutes of waiting. These arrived after our main meal had arrived and not all together. The restaurant was exceptionally quiet so was shocked at this slow service. If it was this slow on a quiet evening then reluctant to return on a busier evening. The bill was given but no one returned to collect payment so I got up to pay at the counter before leaving.
