The Castlefield Rooms offer a boutique, out of the ordinary, venue in central Manchester, in a stunning position within a conservation area on the banks of the Bridgewater Canal. With a superb location in Manchester City Centre, near all major transport links, complimentary on site parking and the highest levels of service and cuisine, the Castlefield Rooms are the perfect venue to hold your wedding, corporate event or party. We offer a choice of three contrasting spaces for anything from 25 to 250 guests together with a range of competitively priced event packages. The versatility of the spaces is also reflected in the variety of menus available from the acclaimed kitchens of Albert’s Shed Restaurant and Dukes 92 which are located on the same site as The Castlefield Rooms. Whichever space you decide on you will have our dedicated Events Team on hand to ensure the smooth and efficient running of your event.

We enjoyed a wonderful long lunch at Albert’s Shed. The food was wonderful. Service was great. The setting was lovely and festive. Slow cooked beef was unreal.

TBH this was an awful meal. Service poor, waitress staff hurried, drinks were not offered, the water to the table and the wine was asked for by me as staff went by without checking in. Food was awful, we questioned the main course with a waitress who said she'd check with kitchen, she didn't come back to us. We had to ask for the bill, which was delivered at the same time as a card reader (I think that is rude). Really awful, not what you'd expect from Alberts. This level of poor service wouldn't not happen in Didsbury. I realise prior to Christmas, the restaurant is busy. But even so! My wine stood on the bar for 5-10 minutes, my pal watched and caught a waitresses eye to deliver it to me. Really really poor :-( Soup was lumpy and cold. Bread served cold. No potatoes you'd could see in chicken and bubble and squeak (we asked to have more pots and word was sent to kitchen, nothing came back). Hey ho a bad meal in December, it happens!

Food was lovely but the service let us down. No offer of condiments, no one asked us if our food was nice or if we had everything, which we didn’t. I had to ask for missing sides. Also no offer for another drink. Disappointing really.

A great venue and food was lovely, overall. The gravy (if that’s what it was meant to be) that came with cheese and onion pie, was very watery and tasteless. A shame as all other dishes were delicious. The atmosphere and service were good as well.

When we arrived, it was noisy was expected due to the Xmas parties going on and plenty of full tables. Good to see. We then got served by a guy, we didn’t get his name. Who was really attentive but got told he was serving somebody else. So when he left everything went downhill, we got served by a different waitress who seemed to preoccupied doing other things. Serving a completely different table which wasn’t in her area, and cleaning other tables. Our food got bought out by a third waitress, and the steak was rubbery and chips were cold. I managed to grab the second waitress and she took the food back to get it redone, but didn’t inform us how long that would take. When it came back it was clear the chips had just been stuck in a deep fryer. Although they did taste good. It meant that my partner was eating whilst I had to wait for an indeterminate amount of time. They were attentive with the dessert but after we asked for the bill we were left for nearly 20 minutes waiting to pay, because our waitress was too busy cleaning a table extremely slowly, and only ended up paying after going to the counter. Whilst we appreciate it was busy due to Christmas parties. By the time we left it was a lot quieter and the 20 minute wait to pay the bill was unacceptable and unnecessary. Especially as that table was then being cleaned and turned over by 2 additional waitress.

Great place to eat and consistently good. Service is very good. We had Ben and he was efficient and personable. Highly recommend.
